The Bert Dalton Trio
plays a mixture of jazz and Latin jazz. Please go to the events page for upcoming performances.
The Dalton Brothers Trio
is Bert Dalton, piano, Larry Dalton, bass, and Rich MacDonald, drums. The trio was "officially" formed at the Great River Jazz Festival in La Crosse, Wisconsin, in the summer of 2002. This is only part of the story, as brothers Bert and Larry Dalton have spent many formative years working together in various musical ensembles, growing up in Villa Park, Illinois. The brothers have followed their own separate musical journeys since their early years, but the joy of performing
together hasn't left them, as is evident in these tracks.
Pianist Bert Dalton resides in Santa Fe, New Mexico, where he is Music Director of the National Dance Institute of New Mexico and performs weekly with his own jazz trio. Bassist Larry Dalton works in the La Crosse region with numerous groups, and holds down a full-time position as the chief financial officer for the Onalaska (WI) school district. Drummer Rich MacDonald, from nearby Winona, Minnesota, has worked as a free-lance drummer and percussionist
since the late-1970s. He is currently a professor of percussion and jazz studies at Winona State University, and performs frequently in the southeast Minnesota and western Wisconsin region.
